It was announced yesterday that the 29-year-old actress, along with the Chuck Lorre Family Foundation and the producers, stars and crew of Big Bang Theory, will be creating a $4 million endowment for STEM students at the University of California, Los Angeles. The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment will support undergraduate students in need of financial aid who are pursuing their higher education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at UCLA.
The initial group of five scholars will be revealed this fall on the set of Big Bang Theory. Joining the scholars will be the show’s stars, producers and representatives from UCLA. This marks the first time that a scholarship endowment at UCLA has been created and funded by a television series.
