Greg zal begin 2017 weer te zien zijn in de Amerikaanse soap ‘Days of Our Lives’, eerder dit jaar verliet hij de soap om andere acteerklussen te kunnen doen zoals de serie ‘Queen Sugar’. Nadat de opnames hiervan klaar waren ging hij opnieuw is gesprek met de schrijvers van ‘Days of Our Lives’ en kwam tot een overeenstemming om weer terug te keren in zijn rol als Eric Brady.

Greg Vaughan, Salem missed you.

EW has learned exclusively that Vaughan will reprise his role as Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives. Vaughan, who first joined DOOL in 2012, left the NBC sudser earlier this year to pursue other gigs. He not only appeared on the Fox drama Lucifer but joined the cast of Queen Sugar on OWN as Calvin, a married cop who’s having an affair with Nova Bordelon (True Blood star Rutina Wesley).

Vaughan’s return is set for Jan 17, 2017.

“After coming toward the completion of Queen Sugar, I had the opportunity to speak with the executives and head writers at Days of our Lives,” said Vaughan in a statement. “I’ve always been proud of my time and the work I contributed to Days, and I was excited at the opportunity to reunite with the cast and crew. I feel my job as an actor is about more than just stepping on stage and taking a role. I’m trying to create a presence that resonates for myself and the core of Eric Brady. I feel Eric’s journey will have a huge and impactful return!”

Before his time on DOOL, Vaughan played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and Diego Gutierrez on The Young and the Restless.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.

Mending their friendship. Rose McGowan penned a lengthy note of support to Shannen Doherty amid her cancer battle.

When Doherty, 45, left Charmed after three seasons, McGowan, 43, was brought in as her replacement in 2001. The move created a rumored rivalry between the two women, and in her post, McGowan slammed Hollywood for putting them at odds.

“As young women we were pitted against each other for society’s pleasure,” the Jawbreaker actress wrote on Instagram Tuesday, September 13. “The rules of Hollywood engagement brainwashed into us were truly vile. The men & brainwashed women in our business made it so we couldn’t be friends, I regret that. We were cast in this weird fake reality show where we were supposed to be enemies. I resented it greatly. I regret not being awake enough to articulate this to you at the time.”

McGowan explained that she was scared of saying or doing the wrong thing on the Charmed set, because she didn’t want to be cast out as Doherty had been. Doherty also left Beverly Hills, 90210, after four seasons for rumored feuding. “Fear was drilled into me from day one in this town & you were the barometer by which my behavior was judged. I was under a microscope, one false move and I’d be branded ‘difficult’ just like you,” she wrote. “The Bad Girl Shaming you received at the hands of the media was merciless. … I had to prove I wasn’t as bad as you or I’d get the axe, too. But we were never the bad ones, it was them., the Beige Brained White Dudes in Charge.”

The pair never actually feuded, though, McGowan insisted. “I refused to give them the cat fight they so wanted. Shannen, we didn’t know it yet, but we were the good ones,” she wrote. “There was a strongly inferred threat of me being blacklisted in tv as I’d been in film. Instead of understanding that we were a different breed, they tried to crush us, but they couldn’t. I send you strength.”

Shannen was afgelopen week samen met haar man en dokter aanwezig op het jaarlijks terugkerend event Stand Up To Cancer. Een benefietavond dat op de Amerikaanse zender ABC uitgezonden wordt om geld in te zamelen voor het Amerikaanse kankerfonds. Dit is de eerste publieke verschijning van Shannen sinds ze begon met chemo behandelingen in haar eigen gevecht tegen de ziekte. edit; meer foto’s zijn toegevoegd.

Alyssa breid haar kledinglijn Touch uit met een special zwangerschapskleding lijn!

Girl power began with the Spice Girls and the Charmed Ones pushed that belief on tenfold.

Not every modern show features women sticking together through the hardest times in their lives, unless you count Orphan Black of course. In a world where women are taught from an early age that jealousy and competition between one another is healthy, the Charmed Ones showed us that it’s more healthy for women to support instead of bicker.

Charmed- Spelling Television
Sure, the Charmed Ones were unique. They may have been sisters and witches, but they still drove the point across that communication is key in any kind of relationship. It shouldn’t take special circumstances to treat those around you with compassion and kindness.

These sisters were television’s late 90’s prominent feminists who showed that uplifting and encouraging one another literally resulted in magic. The only other examples we had of this were Xena and her sidekick Gabrielle, and of course the Spice Girls (though they weren’t the true example of feminism but were produced to represent it). Backstabbing and pettiness of modern day women doesn’t produce the charm and magic that these girls had shown us how to achieve through feminist empowerment.

The show began with three sisters who had no idea that they belonged to a particularly powerful bloodline of witches. It wasn’t until Phoebe came across the Book of Shadows that the Halliwell girls started to treat each other as more than mere relatives. They banded to protect the innocent all while often being targets of attacks from Demons themselves.

While the girls together were unstoppable, each of the Charmed Ones had personalities, strengths and weakness of their own character. The original trio consisted of Prue (Shannen Doherty- please get better soon!), Piper (Holly-Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano). Prue started off as an ambitious auction house worker bee and ended up running it at some point before her death. Her powers linked directly to her expressive eyes and power of telekinesis. Piper could explode items with a flick of her wrist and even stop time when needed. Phoebe was the empath and and experienced premonitions involving the innocents.

Charmed- Spelling Television
They tackled issues such as unity through dark times, conquering love even when it seemed like they weren’t meant to experience such happiness, and even went so far as to tackling the aspect of death when Prue met her death. Despite Doherty’s absence, the show pushed on and eventually introduced Paige (Rose McGowan) who seamlessly fit into her newfound family.

While the trio did miss Prue’s power hugely, Paige’s white-lighter blood did prove useful as the girls gained the power of summoning and teleportation.

Throughout everything and all the seasons, the girls always fought for one another and protecting the good in the world. There just seems to be a shortage of women uplifting other women in the world of television. With Hollywood re-vamping all the other shows I’d love to see them tackle this series, even if the girls are portrayed by other actresses. As much as I love Holly-Marie Combs and Alyssa Milano, I feel they brought everything they could to the characters. Perhaps fresh faces will also bring new life to the Charmed Ones. Either way, television isn’t the same without the Halliwells on air.
