Na het schandaal met Harvey Weinstein heeft zender Lifetime de series ‘Project Runway’ en ‘Project Runway All Stars’ geschrapt van hun programmering omdat ze geproduceerd werden door zijn bedrijf. Zender Bravo nam alleen ‘Project Runway’ over voor een nieuwe seizoen, mogelijk heeft de zender ook niet ‘Project Runway All Stars’ overgenomen gezien het feit dat zijn ex-vrouw Georgina Chapman in de jury zit.

A spring release is planned for Alyssa Milano’s podcast Sorry Not Sorry.
The weekly podcast, according to Milano, will tackle social, political and cultural issues from the perspective of unapologetic guests while highlighting activists doing amazing things and grassroots efforts throughout the country. The podcast will focus on shaping narratives and changing hearts and minds to bridge the ideologies of a divided nation.
The podcast includes interviews with VP Joe Biden, Congressman Ro Khanna, Frances Fisher, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Congresswoman Jayapal, Manuel Oliver, and others. Future interviews include Stacey Abrams, Mayor Eric Garcetti, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and Terry Crews.
“I’m not sorry for using my voice. I’m not sorry for making people uncomfortable while being the voice for those who have been silenced,” explained Milano. “I am grateful for this opportunity to instigate empathy and conversation while highlighting the people leading change by service throughout our great country.”
Milano stars in Netflix’s Insatiable, which is currently in production in Georgia on its second season. She recently penned an op-ed titled “When It Comes to Women’s Rights in Georgia, Hollywood Is Silent,” about the current “Heartbeat Bill” that is up for a vote Tuesday in the state’s House. Milano has urged Hollywood, which utilizes Georgia’s expansive film and TV tax incentives, to boycott the state if the bill, which would become one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation, passes.
Sorry Not Sorry stems from Milano’s passion for causes that she has championed for decades. It began when she was a teenager kissing Ryan White on national television in efforts to help destigmatize and reduce irrational fears surrounding HIV/AIDS. She was worked to advance the #MeToo and TimesUp movements, and recently joined the ERA Coalition’s Advisory Council. She is the ACLU’s Ambassador for Reproductive Rights, became one of the founders of NoRA, a coalition dedicated to combatting NRA money in political campaigns following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and has been a long-time UNICEF National Ambassador, receiving its Spirit of Compassion Award in 2016 for her dedication to advocating for the protection of children’s rights. She also has lobbied members of Congress for greater immigrant rights and education reform, and has been a leader on efforts to protect Americans’ health coverage.
Milano career began in the 1980s with her breakout role as Samantha on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? and spanned decades with parts on hits Melrose Place and Charmed. She also was seen on Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, and has appeared in over 20 films.
Alyssa Milano: Sorry Not Sorry will be executive produced by Sim Sarna (Anna Faris is Unqualified) and Milano. It will be available for free on Apple Podcasts.

‘Charmed’ krijgt volgend seizoen een nieuwe showrunner, nadat Carter Covington stopt. De showrunner is de leidende producer van de TV-serie die zorgt dat de creatieve verantwoordelijkheid heeft over een serie en daarnaast manager is van de crew. Het is de persoon die een leidende rol heeft in het ontwikkelen van o.a. de verhaallijnen in series. Liz Kruger en Craig Shapiro zullen deze rol nu overnemen, de verwachting is dat er volgend seizoen meer focus zal liggen op het bovennatuurlijk dan de familiedynamiek.
Charmed is conjuring up a fresh creative direction, thanks to some new people in charge behind the scenes.
The CW’s freshman reboot is switching showrunners for the upcoming Season 2, with married writing team Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro (Salvation, Necessary Roughness) taking over for Season 1 boss Carter Covington (Faking It), according to The Hollywood Reporter. The switch signals a creative change for Charmed, which “is expected to lean harder into its supernatural storylines and less into the family dynamic” next season, per THR. (Covington was originally brought on to help creators Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin, a pair of Jane the Virgin writers who had never run a show before.)
Charmed — which stars Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery and Madeleine Mantock as a trio of sisters who discover after their mother’s death that they’re all powerful witches — was renewed in January, along with nine other CW shows. A reboot of the 1998-2006 WB staple starring Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan, Charmed has averaged a steady 0.33 rating in the key demo during its freshman run, which wraps up in May.

Straks zouden vrouwen maar tot 6 weken een abortus kunnen krijgen i.p.v. tot 20 weken. Uitzonderingen worden gemaakt voor abortus en incest maar alleen als er een politierapport is opgemaakt waarin dit specifiek benoemd staat. De wet moet nu nog door het State hous (proviniciehuis) verder goed gekeurd worden. Alyssa’s Netflix serie “Insatiable” is één van de projecten die daar momenteel opgenomen wordt, of ze zelf voet bij stuk houd in haar eigen oproep is niet bekend.

Georgia’s controversial “heartbeat bill” has not gone unnoticed in Hollywood.
Actress and “Project Runway: All Stars” host Alyssa Milano Friday tweeted that the bill, which would limit abortions to six weeks after conception, would “strip women of their bodily autonomy.”
Milano also stars in Netflix’s “Insatiable,” which films in Georgia.
The Georgia Senate passed the controversial bill Friday. HB481 would tightly restrict when women in Georgia can get abortions. Current law allows them up to 20 weeks gestation; the so-called “heartbeat” bill would roll it back to six weeks, when a heartbeat is detectable.
The bill makes exceptions for rape and incest, allowing abortion up to 20 weeks. However, it would require women to file “an official police report … alleging the offense of rape or incest” to qualify. The legislation now heads back to the state House, which will have to approve changes made in the Senate.
The ACLU issued a statement after the bill’s passage saying it would challenge the law if implemented. In October, Milano stressed the potential business effect of Georgia’s gubernatorial race, telling Vulture that she may push for “Insatiable” to film its next season in a different state if Brian Kemp won the election.
More than 92,000 Georgians are employed in the state for its various film and TV productions, Lee Thomas, the deputy commissioner of the Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office, said in January. It is now a $9.5 billion industry, with 455 productions show in fiscal year 2018.
At least eight TV shows and films are starting production in the state this month, WXIA-TV of Atlanta reports. Studios and entertainment advocates are watching the legislation closely, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. LaRonda Sutton, the board president of Women in Film & Television Atlanta and the founding director of the Mayor’s Office of Film & Entertainment for the city of Atlanta, told the ACJ, “as long as we don’t do anything silly and non-inclusive, we’ll be fine.” Former Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal vetoed a “religious liberty” bill after Walt Disney and Marvel Studios — which filmed “Black Panther” and two “Avengers” movies in the state — threatened a boycott.
De serie ‘Runaways’ waarin Julian een rol heeft zal terugkeren voor een derde seizoen, of en in hoeveel afleveringen hij te zien zal zijn is nog niet bekend.
Hulu’s first Marvel TV effort Runaways has proved a success so far, and now there’s even more good news for the teen superheroes.
That’s right – the show has just been renewed for a third season.
It’s been confirmed that season three will arrive with 10 new episodes, which comes less than two months after the premiere of the second season.
The show is based on Brian K Vaughan and Adrian Alphona’s comic book series and follows a group of six teenagers from different backgrounds. However, they must unite and fight against a common enemy – their criminal parents, who happen to be supervillains in a collective known as Pride.
The show’s executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have now promised to delve deeper into that world, saying that the third season will be a “magical time” for the show.
“We are so excited to tell more Runaways stories and are so grateful to Marvel, Hulu, our amazing cast and crew and of course our passionate audience,” Schwartz and Savage said in a statement.
“Season 3 will be a magical time on Runaways, as we deepen our connection to the Marvel universe. We are honoured to continue to play in the sandbox created by Brian K Vaughn and Adrian Alphona.”
“Thank you, Hulu! We’re thrilled that Marvel’s Runaways is back for its third season,” he added. “Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage and the amazing writers have something epic in store for our terrific cast.”
Kaley Cuoco (33) werd oorspronkelijk afgewezen voor een rol in ‘The Big Bang Theory’. “De producers vonden me te jong”, vertelt de actrice in een interview met Cinema Blend.
Kaley Cuoco deed als 22-jarige auditie voor de pilootaflevering van ‘The Big Bang Theory’. Ze had haar zinnen gezet op het personage Katie, maar kreeg van de producers te horen dat ze te jong was voor de reeks. De originele pilootaflevering werd echter nooit uitgezonden. De producers namen de aflevering opnieuw op en vervingen het personage Katie door Penny. Kaley deed opnieuw auditie en kreeg deze keer de rol wel toebedeeld.

Yes, the 33-year-old is still yet to know what happens to her character. When chatting to Pop Sugar, she explained: ‘It’s going to be a surprise to all of us. ‘Everyone is struggling to let go of this show, even the writers. I know that we’re all going to freak out reading that final episode.’ The star continued: ‘I hope that whatever loose ends they felt [they] needed to tie up will be tied up. I’m sure they want to see where all these characters end up, and I think the writers don’t want to leave some sort of ending. ‘They want these characters to live on in people’s minds and hearts, so it’s going to have to be written in a very special way.’ She opened up on how they plan to film the finale
But despite the ending being completely out of her hands, there is one thing she would love to see happen – and brace yourselves, it gets a tad emotional. She told the publication: ‘I’d love to see the elevator get fixed,’ we’re not crying, you’re crying. Kaley has recently opened up about how they plan to film the ending, and predicted that there wont be a single dry eye in the house. She told E! news: ‘We’re actually going to pre-shoot the whole thing, so we’ll have shot it, and then we will have an audience taping.

Beide zijn al in 2016 uitgegeven als e-book, maar nu komt er dus een papieren versie, schrijver Paul Ruditis schreef eerder ook al mee met enkele stripboeken gebaseerd op ‘Charmed’.
Daarnaast komt er ook nog een nieuw ‘Charmed’ boek door schrijver Pat Shand genaamd ‘Social Medium’, deze zou uitkomen op 24 september 2019 maar is nog niet te bestellen bij bol.com.
