Rose McGowan addressed her negative tweets directed at fellow actress and activist Alyssa Milano as well as her thoughts on the conviction and sentencing of her alleged rapist, Harvey Weinstein.
McGowan previously tweeted a scathing rebuke of her “Charmed” co-star following comments she made about Joe Biden’s accuser during an interview with Andy Cohen. Milano said that she was keeping silent on allegations of sexual assault against the Democratic presidential candidate, noting that she even showed restraint when it came to Weinstein, arguing that it’s important for investigations to happen when allegations occur.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Bevy Smith show “Bevelations,” McGowan explained that she felt it was necessary to point out that Milano is taking credit for speaking against Weinstein while remaining silent about Biden’s accuser.

(AP/Getty)“Like Alyssa, a lot of people just kind of jumped on the train and she said something recently in an Andy Cohen interview like, ‘if you remember I took a long time to speak out on Harvey’ and like, what the hell did you have to do with Harvey? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, like nothing. Shut up,” McGowan said.
Her recent comments echo those she wrote to Milano on Twitter in a fiery post earlier this month.
“You are a fraud. This is about holding the media accountable. You go after Trump & Kavanaugh saying Believe Victims, you are a lie,” McGowan wrote at the time. “You have always been a lie. The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME.”
Tara Reade, an apparent supporter of Biden’s former rival, Bernie Sanders, who dropped out of the presidential race and then endorsed the former vice president, came forward with allegations of sexual assault against Biden and McGowan seems upset that Milano is giving Biden a pass on them.
Later in her interview, McGowan noted that she feels Milano is “gaslighting the public” by picking whom she’ll believe about sexual assault.
“I don’t like sacred cows. I don’t like people that are held up to be better than other people and I don’t like people that don’t really do the right thing and behind the scenes are aiding and abetting alleged criminals. I just don’t and I won’t stand for it,” she told the host.
In a separate interview with Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg, the hosts asked McGowan, who is promoting her new album “Planet 9,” how she feels now that Harvey Weinstein is behind bars. The actress was one of the more vocal voices in 2017 when the now-disgraced movie mogul faced countless accusations of sexual misconduct and assault.
“Thank you goddesses in the world and men that saw things differently on the jury and the women that testified and all the women that just hung through and all the people in the world during that period,” McGowan said during her appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Jenny McCarthy Show.” “I really feel like ‘Planet 9’ is my gift to the world of like, ‘hey guys, we went through a really f—ing hard, gross time where we had to see f—face pig monster every day and it triggered a lot of people and opened a lot of their wounds daily, daily, daily relentlessly. I had to do that and I’m sorry, but I had to do that because we have to look at the collective wound that we’re all walking around with.”
She concluded: “I feel like I have 350-pound slug monster off my neck. I’ve had this foot on my back for 22 years. That’s a really long time.”
Nul. Ga iemand anders maar lastigvallen”.

Supa-Star Holly Marie Combs brought the magic to Supanova in Melbourne and on the Gold Coast, this past March, with fans ecstatic to see the Charmed actor alongside co-star Brian Krause once more.
Unsurprisingly, there was a LOT of fan questions during her visits – some that resulted in surprising answers. Here are a few highlights from Holly Marie Combs’ Gold Coast panel.
FAVOURITE THING ABOUT AUSTRALIA
“The people, for sure. They’re a friendly, enthusiastic bunch. I have a lot of favourite countries, but [Australia] is definitely up there. I love Switzerland too, but it doesn’t have an ocean, so you guys kind of win.”FAN SPLIT
“The old people like Charmed – I’m one of the old people, don’t be offended – and the younger generation kind of drifted towards the madness and craziness of Pretty Little Liars.”SPELLBOUND
“My favourite spell in Charmed was the truth spell. That was super funny but super important. There’s nothin’ I like less than a liar. Then I did [Pretty Little Liars] for seven years.”IMPOSTER SYNDROME
“I was so nervous filming [Picket Fences], because I felt so green and young, and I was surrounded by all these really good movie actors. I was just waiting for the day where they found out that I didn’t belong there and that I would get fired.”OCEAN’S ELEVEN
“I was not the first person that they called, but by the time they did call me they said, ‘Listen, we know you may not want to do this, because a lot of people said that they don’t want to make fun of themselves.’ I was like, ‘I don’t care – let’s go! Tell me where and when.’ And then Brad Pitt called me Holly and I was like, ‘This is weird.’”THE CHARMED FINALE
“We sort of had a hand in how our characters ended up. The girls and I went into my trailer and we sort of mapped out the way we wanted our characters to end up and with how many children. It was nice to be able to wrap it up that way because on most shows you do not get the opportunity, or even have the time to do it properly… I haven’t seen it, because I do this weird thing where I don’t watch finales – I can’t explain it, it’s just one of my weird things.”LOVE HURTS
“Love scenes with [Brian] were super awkward. I would stress about it for like a week, like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Really? Really? Really? Really?’ Because we were buddies and we are still buddies.”THE IMPACT
“I never anticipated while I was doing [Charmed] that it would be as far-reaching, but I’m glad all the crazy dedication that I put into it is not just impactful but long-lasting.”REBOOT WITH ORIGINAL CAST
“Alyssa [Milano] and I talked about it when we did that episode of Grey’s Anatomy and she felt at the time that it would be better to do it as a series of movies, maybe two or three a year. I was like, ‘We’re gonna be really old by the time we’re done with that.’”FAVOURITE SISTER
“Brian! Leo was always the fourth sister, before we had a fourth sister. He gossips more than anyone.”
Rose was twee maanden geleden te horen in de podcast ‘Shut up Evan’ van acteur Evan Ross. Klik hier om het gehele interview te beluisteren.
Evan Ross Katz talks to actress, author, and activist Rose McGowan. Known for her roles in SCREAM, JAWBREAKER, PLANET TERROR, and CHARMED, McGowan discusses being a lightning rod for criticism on social media, rebelling against the Hollywood system, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and Harvey Weinstein.
Could there be a better time for a message of hope?
That’s exactly what Alyssa Milano’s new book aims to deliver (it even has “hope” in its title!). The actress joined E!’s Carissa Culiner and Justin Sylvester on Daily Pop’s Instagram Live on Tuesday to share what inspired her to write Hope: Project Animal Rescue in the first place, as well as provide some insight into what quarantine has been like for her and her family.
According to Milano, this book is the second in an ongoing series. Another is set to be released in October.
“Really, I wanted to write a series about kids in middle school and giving them the tools to change the world and to make a difference and to find their voice…but also go through every single element that young people go through while discovering who they are and what they believe in,” Milano explained to Culiner and Sylvester while video chatting.
She said these tools include volunteering, fundraising and “all of those things that I think are so vital to a society that we’ve kind of lost track of.”
The initial inspiration for the books came from Milano’s own kids, but also something she said she’s found in any child she’s met: “an innate ability, no matter what is going on around them, to hope for a brighter tomorrow.”
This, of course, is difficult for many to do right now due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent need to stay isolated. Like plenty of other parents around the world, Milano admitted to Culiner and Sylvester that she’s having “a tricky time.”
“I don’t know how much of the truth to tell them,” she said of her kids. “I don’t know how much to shelter them from the truth.”
On a lighter note, Milano’s extremely frustrated with the remote learning process—especially when it comes to the phenomenon that is Common Core math: “I mean, I don’t understand why we can’t just carry the one anymore?”
Now that’s a question that is likely being asked by moms and dads everywhere!
