Het is bekend geworden dat Sarah is gecast in de nieuwe film ‘Year Of The Fox’, de opnames zijn inmiddels al afgerond.

Sarah Jeffery (The CW’s Charmed), Emmy nominee Jane Adams (Hacks), Jake Weber (Those Who Wish Me Dead) and Balthazar Getty (Twin Peaks) will star in Year of the Fox, the latest feature from award-winning director Megan Griffiths (Lucky Them, Eden, The Off Hours), which has wrapped production in the state of Washington.

The film written by Eliza Flug is a fictionalized depiction of teenage experiences and personal encounters she had while growing up in Aspen, Colorado, during the last of its utopian heyday. Set in 1997, it tells the story of 17-year-old Ivy (Jeffery), who was adopted as an infant into a wealthy and notable Aspen family and is now navigating the fallout of her parents’ bitter divorce.

Ivy’s mother, Paulene (Adams), prepares to relocate to her native Seattle, taking Ivy with her. But Ivy’s influential and controlling father, Huxley (Weber), pulls Ivy ever closer by inviting her and her friends into Aspen’s bacchanalian party scene, where Ivy’s attachment issues align with the predatory nature of a charming older man (Getty). As she watches her mother retreat, her father detach, and her best friend Layla (Lexi Simonsen) get drawn into a tricky world of elitism and validation, Ivy struggles to find her own path without stumbling.

Flug produced with Lacey Leavitt (Sadie, Safety Not Guaranteed) and Jennifer Roth (Blood Father, Mudbound).

“A reckoning has been taking place over the past few years regarding how our culture treated Monica Lewinsky, Britney Spears, Anita Hill, and so many other women who entered the public eye in the late 90s. I believe that Year of the Fox has something to add to this conversation,” said Griffiths. “It is a story that explores the dangers of allowing powerful men to dictate who you should be, and the freedom that can come with seeking that answer within yourself.”

Jeffery currently plays series regular Maggie in CBS and The CW’s Charmed reboot, exec produced by Jane the Virgin‘s Jennie Syder Urman, also playing Jennifer Lopez’s daughter in three seasons of NBC’s Shades of Blue, and portraying Thandie Newton’s daughter as a series regular on Audience Network’s Rogue. The actress has also starred on the TV side in final installment of The Disney Channel’s Descendants trilogy, directed by Kenny Ortega, recurring on Fox series Wayward Pines, exec produced by M. Night Shyamalan, opposite Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, and Melissa Leo. Her film credits include Director X’s Across the Line, in which she co-starred opposite Stephan James, and Joshua Caldwell’s Be Somebody.

Adams is a Tony and Drama Desk Winner and Golden Globe nominee, who recently landed her first Emmy nomination for her guest-starring turn as Nina Daniels in HBO Max’s hit comedy series, Hacks. The actress has also appeared on the TV side in Netflix’s Messiah and HBO’s Hung, along with Easy, Sneaky Pete, Claws, Twin Peaks, Frasier, Relativity and more. In addition to Netflix’s Easy, the actress has collaborated with Joe Swanberg on films including Build the Wall, Digging for Fire, All the Light in the Sky, Silver Bullets and Alexander the Last.

In his 30-year acting career across film, theatre and television, Weber has appeared in such films as Dawn of the Dead, Meet Joe Black, Learning to Drive, Midway, Berlin, I Love You, Head Full of Honey, Thank You for Your Service, Hungry Hearts, Amistad, The Pelican Brief and Born on the Fourth of July. The actor has found series regular roles in Medium, Homeland, Hell on Wheels and The Mind of the Married Man, along with a notable recurring role in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. He was recently seen in Taylor Sheridan’s film Those Who Wish Me Dead and will next appear in Vincent Grashaw’s thriller What Josiah Saw, along with the upcoming third season of Peacock’s Departure.

Getty is an award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, artist, musician, DJ, designer, and philanthropist who launched his career as a child actor with Harry Hook’s 1990 film adaptation of Lord of the Flies. The actor has starred in more than four dozen films, finding notable credits in David Lynch’s cult classic Lost Highway, Ridley Scott’s White Squall, and most recently, La Flamme Rouge and The Judge.

The actress took to social media asking for prayers following her dog’s medical emergency

Rose McGowan is asking for prayers for her sweet dog. On Monday, the actress, 48, shared a short message on Instagram about a severe health issue affecting her pet. “We need all prayers to all Goddesses and Gods right now, please. Perlita has been stung by something that is attacking her nervous system. We need all good thoughts. Gracias,” McGowan wrote. The post included photos of McGowan’s pooch Pearl with a bandage around her paw, as well as an old clip of the dog roaming around the beach.

In the comments, many of McGowan’s followers and fellow stars shared well wishes for Pearl. McGowan didn’t provide any additional information on the dog’s health. The actress first introduced the pup to her followers in March 2020, revealing that she got Pearl as an emotional support animal. “Since I’ve had her only a few nightmares have woken me up sweating and shaking, it used to be 2-3 times a night. It’s an amazing feeling to not have night terrors. I know a lot of you can relate,” she explained on Instagram at the time.

She also told her followers that Pearl isn’t a rescue dog like her four other furry friends, but still urged people to adopt their pets. She also noted that she donates monthly to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I am so grateful this little being has come into my life as a healing force for good. I intend to make every one of her days happy,” she added.

Not That Girl’ gaan heetten.

Sarah heeft een interview gehad met pop-culturalist.com waarin ze praat over haar nieuwe single ‘Suffer’ en over het vierde seizoen van ‘Charmed’.
.

Sarah Jeffery is an exciting triple threat who has the industry under her spell. From starring roles in projects including Descendants and Charmed to releasing her debut single “Even the Stars”, Sarah is captivating audiences in all facets of her career.

This October, Sarah continues to wow fans with the release of “Suffer”.

Pop-Culturalist was lucky enough to chat with Sarah about the inspiring message behind “Suffer”, tapping into her vulnerability, and what’s ahead for the Charmed Ones.

P-C: How did you discover your passion for acting and music?
Sarah: I started dancing at the age of three. I continued to dance throughout my whole childhood and teen years. Because of that, I was always very open to the arts and receptive to all different kinds of art forms.

My family is quite artistic. I was always bound to do something in it, which is funny because I initially wanted to do medicine, but I think I’m better off this way.

P-C: Who or what has had the biggest influence on your career?
Sarah: I always think back to the first project that I did called Rogue. I worked with Thandiwe Newton. I’ve always respected her as an actress, but then I got to know her as a human. My respect and love for her grew. When I think back on things that have really made an impact, I think of my time working with her and how lovely she was taking me under her wing. She made sure my first time on a set was comfortable, and she taught me a lot. I love her.

P-C: You’ve had a lot of success already in your young career. When you look back, is there a particular moment that stands out to you?
Sarah: Descendants definitely stands out as a time in my life where it was all coming very fast. It was very exciting. You never know how people are going to react to something, but people loved those films, especially my character in the third film. I had a larger role, and I got to sing. It’s when I realized that I had people who looked up to me, people were dressing up as my character for Halloween, and there were Barbie dolls of the characters. It was a surreal meta moment.

P-C: You’ve got a new single out now. Tell us about “Suffer” and the inspiration behind the song.
Sarah: I was inspired by a breakup I had about four years ago that was particularly rough. Everyone can relate to that in one way or another, whether it’s a romantic relationship, a friendship, a family dynamic, it can be rocky. Sometimes they end in a way that really sticks with you.

For me, that happened about four years ago. It really forced me to get to know myself better and push through. That is the leading message for me with “Suffer”. It’s their loss and your gain because you get to know yourself better. That’s so important in every relationship—you can’t share the best version of yourself with someone else until you’re confident and solid in your own two feet.

Shannen heeft een interview gehad met Variety!

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, Shannen Doherty meticulously documented every step of her treatment on Instagram, from shaving her head to the horrors of chemo — and eventually her remission in April 2017. The actor, best known for “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Heathers” and “Charmed,” would post multiple times each week, also peppering her feed with her workouts, dinners with friends and family and — one of Doherty’s passions — images of dogs in urgent need of adoption. “At that time, I think I needed it,” she says now about chronicling her treatment. And having been a fixture in the tabloids for decades, Doherty wanted to be in control of the narrative: “I wanted to own my life. It’s my life!” The social engagement carried her through, especially as other people shared their own stories in her Instagram comments. “It was empowering,” she says.

Doherty’s cancer recurred in early winter 2019, and is now metastatic Stage 4 cancer. She can be treated but not cured; she’s living with this disease for the rest of her life. And right now, on Instagram, though she still posts once or twice a week, she’s very much not detailing what this experience has been like. “I’m in a hermit phase?” Doherty says with a laugh, using upspeak. “I’m sort of taking all that energy and giving it to myself at the moment.”

What she’s concentrating on is not only working, but proving to Hollywood that people with cancer can work. “The best example that I can continue to set for other people with cancer, and to the outside world who doesn’t have cancer,” Doherty says, “is to show them what a cancer patient looks like. We are employable.

“So for me, I’m just trying to live the best I can, to be the best example at this moment.”

And she’s doing just that. Doherty, who turned 50 in April, filmed three movies back to back this year. Two of them will air during the same weekend — on Oct. 9 and 10 — on Lifetime. The first, “Dying to Belong,” is a remake of a 1997 TV movie (with Hilary Swank) about the dangers of sorority hazing, and it is archetypal Lifetime: an issues-oriented examination of a tragedy that also manages to entertain. In it, Doherty plays the mother of the girl who’s been hazed to death; she won’t accept the university’s account of the events, and turns investigator with the help of her daughter’s best friend. The second movie, “List of a Lifetime,” is about a woman (Kelly Hu) who’s been diagnosed with breast cancer, and gets in touch with the adult daughter she’d placed for adoption to tell her she may have the BRCA gene. Doherty plays the young woman’s adoptive mother, who at first is less than enthused about the intrusion — but comes around. The third project, a Bruce Willis action extravaganza called “The Fortress,” will be released next year in theaters.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the creative team behind “List of a Lifetime” was “tossing names around” with the network about who might direct the special content that would air after the film. Doherty, who has directing experience, including three episodes of “Charmed,” volunteered. Lifetime agreed, and Doherty’s call to action — featuring herself and her co-stars, and shot in an empty warehouse — will accompany the movie.
