Kaley is genomineerd voor Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy voor haar rol in ‘The Flight Attendent’, daarnaast is de serie waarvan ze ook producer is ook genomineerd voor Best TV Comedy/Musical. Dit is de eerste keer dat Kaley genomineerd is voor een Golden Globe in haar carriere, toen ze erachter kwam brak ze in tranen uit van blijdschap.
“I’ve been in this business for 30 years, and I was in the corner, happy, waving, part of great shows, never did I dream of this moment, nor was it a goal,” beamed Flight Attendant star and EP Kaley Cuoco about her first two Golden Globe nominations this morning.
Not only was the series a breakthrough for frosh streamer HBO Max, but scored Cuoco as a producer a Best TV Comedy/Musical nom, and a Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy nod.
“I just dreamed of being an actor, and so to have this moment this morning after doing this my whole life, I’ll never forget it. My heart is about to burst,” exclaimed Cuoco.
The Flight Attendant, based on Chris Bohjalian’s novel, stars Cuoco as an alcoholic jet-setting flight attendant, Cassie Bowen, whose one-night stand with a first-class passenger turns tragic after she wakes up next to his murdered corpse. She becomes immediately a person of suspect, and embroiled in the late cute guy’s spy affairs, unable to remember what happened as alcohol has clouded her judgement. HBO Max announced that a season 2 is in the works shortly after the series one finale back in December.
“We haven’t written anything yet, we just started our writers’ room, but I think the journey for her emotionally is that she is going to try and have a sober journey. Because she is so impatient, and her personality is so black-and-white, she’s going to go into this thinking it’s easy; a quick fix and that she’s fixed her demons. I think she’s going to learn very quickly that this is a life-long struggle and she’s going to be way over her head,” teased Cuoco about season 2 of the HBO Max show.
What has many critics gobsmacked about Flight Attendant is how the former Big Bang Theory comedienne balances the drama and the comedy in what is a very fun, spy series.
In regards to hitting those marks, Cuoco shares, “I’ve always been gut driven, I feel it, and say ‘This is right, this is right’. I just saw this book three-and-half years ago and I thought ‘Wow, this character could be really f***king fun!’ I optioned the book, and if I could tell you over the past few years how often the word ‘tone’ was discussed in phone calls, it’s been crazy. I didn’t know that the word could be said so many times. Finding the tone on this show was incredibly challenging. It was not a drama, it was not a comedy, it was not that. It was all of these things. I felt like I had multiple personalities in practically every scene. It was an actor’s dream. I just went there, and went crazy, and felt it. It turned into the most unique tone I’ve ever played.”
Rose McGowan (47), de ex-verloofde van Marilyn Manson (52), steunt de vrouwen die zeggen te zijn misbruikt door de zanger. De actrice zegt in een video op Instagram diep geschokt te zijn door alle verhalen die deze week naar boven zijn gekomen.

Rose, een van de eerste vrouwen die Harvey Weinstein beschuldigde van seksueel misbruik, heeft tijdens haar relatie met de zanger bijna twintig jaar geleden geen misbruik meegemaakt. “Maar dat zegt niets over hoe hij daarvoor of daarna met anderen is geweest”, aldus de actrice. “Het kost tijd om naar voren te komen met je verhaal en ik ben trots op deze vrouwen en iedereen die opkomt tegen een misbruiker.”
Ze wil dat mensen de vermeende slachtoffers niet aanvallen omdat ze hebben gewacht met het delen van hun verhaal. “Dat zorgt ervoor dat anderen niets durven te zeggen.”
Actrice Evan Rachel Wood, een andere ex-verloofde van Manson, vertelde maandag op social media jarenlang door de excentrieke zanger te zijn misbruikt. Ook andere vrouwen deelden daarna verhalen over seksueel misbruik, onderdrukking en mishandeling door Manson. De zanger, die alles ontkent, raakte als gevolg daarvan een acteerklus kwijt en zijn platenlabel en management lieten hem vallen.
The CW heeft 12 van zijn series vernieuwd voor extra seizoenen, hieronder is ook ‘Charmed’ vernieuwd voor seizoen 4! De reden voor de vroege aankondiging is zodat productieteams genoeg tijd hebben om het vervolg verhaal uit te werken ect. Ik vermoed dat de Covid-pandemie hier ook mee te maken heeft omdat het gehele seizoen daardoor nu pas later begon dan normaal januari 2021 i.p.v oktober 2020. En dat ze hiermee zorgen dat de vervolgseizoen wel weer zoals altijd in het najaar kunnen starten.
The CW Network today renewed 12 of its current scripted series for the 2021-2022 season, including its new breakout hit WALKER, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO, The CW Network. Additionally, The CW is ordering 5 additional episodes for this season of WALKER, bringing its total episode count for 2020-2021 to 18, and 2 additional episodes of SUPERMAN & LOIS, bringing its total episode count for 2020-2021 to 15.
“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” said Pedowitz. “As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, WALKER and SUPERMAN & LOIS, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of WALKER, which debuted as our most watched series premiere in 5 years.”
The current series being ordered for the 2021-2022 season include a second season of WALKER, which recently scored The CW’s most watched series premiere in 5 years, as well as ALL AMERICAN (Season 4), BATWOMAN (Season 3), CHARMED (Season 4), DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Season 7), DYNASTY (Season 5), THE FLASH (Season 8), IN THE DARK (Season 4), LEGACIES (Season 4), NANCY DREW (Season 3), RIVERDALE (Season 6) and ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (Season 4). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.
