After the tragic death of Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie’s (Sarah Jeffery) mother, the sisters struggle with moving forward but face another huge shock when they learn they have an older sister, Macy (Madeleine Mantock). With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others’ thoughts and Macy has telekinetic powers. While trying to understand their new powers, Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans), gathers the sisters and reveals they’re actually powerful witches, as was their mother. He also lets them in on a little secret, he’s not really a professor, he’s their “Whitelighter,” a witch’s advisor and guide. The sisters must make the decision to accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones…and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us…one of whom killed their mother. Ellen Tamaki and Ser’Darius Blain also star. Brad Siberling directed the episode written by Jessica O’Toole & Amy Rardin (#101). Original airdate 10/14/2018

De serie werd vorige maand uitgezonden op de zender en kreeg lovende reviews, maar het is nog niet bekend of de serie vernieuwd is voor seizoen 2. En dan is het natuurlijk maar de vraag of Madeleine Mantock hier tijd voor heeft met de opnames van ‘Charmed’.

Charmed Reboot Trailer Hints at Major Connection to Original Series

In de nieuwe clip van ‘Charmed’ wordt gehint naar een connectie met de orginele serie uit 1998. In de clip is te zien hoe de nieuwe ‘Charmed Ones’ door de Book of Shadows bladeren en bij een pagina komen die over Melinda Warren gaat. In de orginele serie was zij een krachtige heks uit de 17 eeuw die in Salem woonde, en een voorouder was van de de Halliwell zusjes. Op welke wijze Melinda Warren gaat spelen in de nieuwe serie is nog even afwachten, de serie gaat op 14 oktober in premiere op The CW!

The CW has generally presented its upcoming Charmed reboot as a separate entity from the original WB series, but a new trailer appears to suggest otherwise. Released earlier this week, the trailer contains a quick shot of the new Charmed Ones — Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) — flipping through the famed Book of Shadows, only to land on a very familiar entry: Melinda Warren.

Though rarely shown, Melinda Warren was a frequent presence in the original series. A powerful witch from 17th century Salem, Mass., Melinda began the bloodline that would eventually lead to the births of the original Charmed Ones — Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan). Does this mean they also exist in the universe of the reboot?

While discussing the reboot with TVLine, the new cast of Charmed promised plenty of “nods” to the original series, but incorporating the woman whose existence resulted in the births of the Halliwells feels like… more than a nod. As TVLine exclusively reported, the new sisters will also find themselves up against a potentially villainous CEO named Alastair Caine (played by Reign‘s Craig Parker), though there’s no apparent connection between him and the demon named Alastair who appeared on one episode of the original series.

The Melinda Warren reveal was seen by fans who caught an early screening of the pilot at San Diego Comic-Con, but the page was not featured in any of the trailers previously release by The CW.

Kaley Cuoco has one last wish before The Big Bang Theory comes to an end.

“I’d like to learn Penny’s last name,” she joked, while visiting the hosts on the set of The Talk. And if that doesn’t happen in the course of the 12th and final season then she’d at least like “for the elevator to be fixed.”

Otherwise, she is simply sad to see her time as Penny come to an end. In the nearly 11 years since the show has been on air, the cast and crew have been nominated for 52 awards and won 10. Kaley held back tears as she shared, “This show is really special and it has changed my life.”

As for her plans after the show’s finale, Cuoco is looking forward to enjoying married life and taking on larger projects at her production company, where she has started to dabble in producing.

Asia Argento dreigt met juridische stappen tegen Rose McGowan

De Italiaanse actrice Asia Argento zegt Rose McGowan aan te klagen als McGowan de uitspraken die ze onlangs deed over Argento in een brief, niet onmiddellijk terugneemt.
McGowan stelde in de brief onder meer dat Argento, die wordt beschuldigd van seksueel misbruik, zich zou moeten opstellen zoals ze graag had gewild dat Harvey Weinstein dat had gedaan.

“Beste Rose”, schreef Argento maandag op Twitter. “Met oprechte spijt deel ik je hier mee dat je 24 uur de tijd hebt om de uitspraken en de vreselijke leugens die je hebt geuit in je verklaring van 27 augustus terug te trekken. Als je daar niet aan voldoet, zie ik geen andere mogelijkheid dan juridische stappen te ondernemen.”

McGowan reageerde met haar verklaring op de aantijgingen aan het adres van Argento. De twee actrices raakten bevriend omdat ze beiden een actieve rol speelden in de #metoo-beweging, maar de vriendschap liep een deuk op door beschuldigingen aan het adres van Argento door de 22-jarige acteur Jimmy Bennett.

McGowan schreef onder meer dat ze niets te maken heeft met het mogelijke misbruik van Argento. “Ik ben niet medeplichtig omdat we vrienden zijn.”

Ook vertelde McGowan dat ze verdrietig is om het verliezen van een vriendschap, maar dat dit in het niets valt vergeleken met de situatie van Bennett.

“Je was mijn vriendin en ik hield van je”, besloot McGowan de brief. “Je hebt veel op het spel gezet voor de #metoo-beweging. Wees de persoon die je zou willen dat Harvey Weinstein had kunnen zijn.”

Inmiddels heeft Asia via een nieuwe tweet laten weten stappen te ondernemen tegen Rose en haar vriend Rain Dover voor o.a. smaad en laster, omdat Rose binnen de 24-uur geen excuses aanbood.

Alyssa vuurt terug op president Trump nadat hij vond dat Christine Blasey Ford die één van Trumps kandidaten voor het hogergerechtshof in Amerika beschuldigd van seksueel misbruik zo’n 30 jaar geleden maar gelijk naar de politie had moeten gaan. In een tweet hierover suggereert Trump dat ze dit toen niet heeft gedaan omdat ze liegt over haar beschuldigingen. Vele beroemdheden waaronder dus Alyssa vinden dit niet oké en delen nu op social media hun redenen waarom ze na hun eigen seksuele misbruik niet gelijk naar politie zijn gegaan onder de #WhyIDidntReport

Alyssa Milano, who first brought focus to the #MeToo hashtag, kicked things off again by tweeting how she stayed silent about a sexual assault in her teens for decades. “I was sexually assaulted twice. Once when I was a teenager. I never filed a police report and it took me 30 years to tell me parents,” she wrote. “If any survivor of sexual assault would like to add to this please do so in the replies.” She followed up with the hashtag #WhyIDidntReport, and soon found herself joined by many fellow survivors.
