‘Pretty Little Liars’ actrice Chloe Bridges is gecast in één aflevering als de nieuwe Whitelighter in ‘Charmed’. Ze komt in beeld wanneer Harry verdwijnt, echter is ze niet zo gevoelig voor het feit dat de zussen nieuw zijn in de wereld van magie en niet bang op te benoemen waarin ze tekort doen.
Macy, Mel and Maggie are about to get a reality check, courtesy of Chloe Bridges. The actress will guest-star in an upcoming episode of The CW’s Charmed as Tessa, a no-nonsense Whitelighter who fills in when Harry “mysteriously disappears,” TVLine has learned exclusively.
Unlike Harry, who nurtures the witches’ powers and understands that they’re still relatively new to the craft, Tessa is “a total hardass and decidedly unimpressed with the sisters’ abilities, and not afraid to be snarky about their shortcomings.”
The Charmed reboot, which premiered in Oct. 2018, was part of The CW’s recent mass renewal, ensuring a second season of demons and drama for the newly formed Charmed Ones.
As for the show’s main story arc, executive producer Amy Rardin tells TVLine that the second half of Season 1 will “explore the mystery of who killed Marisol. We have a lot of twists and turns in that story. We have a lot of mysteries to reveal.”
In addition to playing the ever-shady Sydney Driscoll on ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars, Bridges’ small-screen resume also includes roles on Netflix’s Insatiable (as Roxy Buckley), VH1’s Daytime Divas (as Kibby Ainsley), MTV’s Faking It (as Zita Cruz), The CW’s The Carrie Diaries (as Donna LaDonna) and 90210 (as Alexis), and ABC’s Freddie (as Zoey).

EW can exclusively reveal that Charmed has added former Pretty Little Liars star — and current Roswell, New Mexico star — Tyler Blackburn. Blackburn will appear in one episode of the CW series as Viralis, a soul-sucking demon with a loyal cult following. With the power to see into the depths of the human soul, he lures his victims by promising to manifest their greatest desire.
Additionally, the series welcomes former Originals star Leah Pipes, who will recur as Fiona Callahan, Elder Charity’s younger sister and Harry’s former charge. It seems she’s back in Hilltowne after spending years languishing in Tartarus under suspicious circumstances. Fiona is a witch with a mysterious past and an even more cryptic power. Her release from Tartarus, orchestrated by the Sarcana, could be a blessing or a curse to the Charmed Ones.

Jimmy Tatro and Scott Porter have been cast in an upcoming episode of the first season of the CW’s “Charmed,” Variety has learned exclusively.
Tatro, who is best known for “American Vandal” and a recent stint on the second season of “The Guest Book,” will guest star as a “bad boy” angel named Gideon, while Porter (“Friday Night Lights,” “The Good Wife,” “Hart of Dixie”) will guest star as “good guy” angel Levi.
Gideon and Levi are a brother duo from a show within the show — a 1990s TV drama called “Heaven’s Vice” — on which they are tasked with saving mankind from the devil and his minions. Through a “magical mix-up,” they cross over into the real world and arrive in Hilltown via a portal, understandably confused and “quite the handful” for the sisters.
This episode is set to air in the spring, towards the end of the show’s first season.
“Charmed,” which was created by Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin and Jennie Snyder Urman, stars Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Ser’Darius Blain, Ellen Tamaki, Nick Hargrove, and Rupert Evans. O’Toole, Rardin, Urman, Ben Silverman, Brad Silberling, Howard Owens, and Carter Covington serve as executive producers.

The original CHARMED series ran on the WB for eight seasons, 1998-2006. It concerned three sisters who discovered they were witches, each with their own powers. When united, they had the Power of Three.
Now The CW has its own new version of CHARMED, airing Sunday nights. Here, sisters Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie Vera (Sarah Jeffery) discover both their powers and the fact that they have a half-sister, Macy (Madeleine Mantock), right after the death of their mother.
Ellen Tamaki plays police detective Niko Hamada, who is in an on/off romantic relationship with Mel. After a rough patch, things had started to go well – until Mel had to magically change the timeline to protect Niko. Now Niko doesn’t remember they were ever involved.
Niko is Tamaki’s first major onscreen role, following a stage career. She has several feature films coming up, including WE ONLY KNOW SO MUCH, SEARCHING FOR SALLY MAE and INEZ & DOUG & KIRA.
What can you tell us about Niko Hamada?
Niko Hamada is the detective in the town. Niko is also Mel’s girlfriend, and I think that, because she’s good at her job and really intelligent, two of the things that I really appreciate about this character and this woman, she probably has a hunch, because this relationship is going really well, the two of them are really close, and Niko is doing a lot of investigating, and I think she’s got a feeling that something magical may be up.Do you know if Niko may develop her own magical powers later on?
I don’t know, but I really want them so badly [laughs].What would you like to be able to do?
So I’ve always loved shape-shifting and transfiguration, because I feel like you kind of get the best of both worlds, like, you can be invisible and be a fly, or you could fly and be a fly. You could do all of those different things any time you want. You could be a whale. You could do any of that. And they [the producers] were saying they want to bring in all different kinds of mythologies. Witches are Shakespearean. The idea of three witches has been around for so long, I think you can tie that in, in so many different, exciting ways. We’re just scratching the surface now.Were you a fan of the original CHARMED?
Definitely. I wasn’t allowed to watch it [laughs]. I’m the oldest, and I have younger siblings, and I was young enough that my mom didn’t really let me do BUFFY and any of that quite yet. So I’ve actually caught up with it – my sister and I have binged it since, but yeah. I’ve seen a bit of it.
