Kaley is a.s. woensdag te zien in een aflevering van ABC’s docuserie Superstar over acteur John Ritter. Samen met hem was ze te zien in de serie ‘8 Simple Rules’ van 2002-2003, hij overleed in 2003 toen de serie nog liep.
Het lijkt erop dat Ellen’s serie ‘Manifest’ toch gered wordt door Netflix, de makers en de streamingdiensten zouden momenteel alsnog aan het onderhalen zijn voor een vierde seizoen op het platform.
De ‘Save Manifest’-campagne lijkt richting het einde te gaan. Netflix zou namelijk op het punt staan om Manifest een nieuw leven te geven en richting het einde van “complexe onderhandelingen” met Warner Bros. Television te gaan.
Zodra dat allemaal rond is, krijgt de serie een vierde seizoen op de streamingdienst. Warner Bros. Television voert volgens Deadline op dit moment onderhandelingen met de cast over een terugkeer, en voert gesprekken met nieuwe schrijvers voor het vierde seizoen.Manifest keert terug
De onderhandelingen zijn zeer vergevorderd met Netflix. NBCUniversal was ook in gesprek om de serie te behouden, maar bleek er geen fiducie in te hebben dat het nog een succes zou worden. In de Verenigde Staten was de serie echter een groot succes op Netflix.Manifest werd in juni gecancelled en is nu al op weg naar een vierde reeks. Dat leek in eerste instantie allemaal niet te gaan lukken, omdat Netflix vrij vroeg in het proces besloten zou hebben om de serie maar niet op te pikken.
Dankzij een zorgvuldige campagne van fans, maar ook de cast en crew, trok de serie toch voldoende kijkers om een nieuw seizoen op Netflix te rechtvaardigen.
Een twijfelpunt voor Netflix was vooral dat men alleen in de Verenigde Staten de rechten heeft om de serie te streamen. Vermoedelijk is daar een oplossing voor gevonden.
Shannen is te zien in nog een Lifetime film nadat de zender de rechten heeft gekocht de remake van de film ‘Dying to Belong’ uit 1997. De film is dit najaar te zien op de Amerikaanse zender. In mei dit jaar vonden de eerste opnames al plaats.

Favour Onwuka and Jenika Rose also star in the remake of the 1997 TV movie
Lifetime has greenlighted a remake of the 1997 TV movie “Dying to Belong” about sorority hazing, the network announced Tuesday.
Shannen Doherty will star in the movie alongside “Supergirl’s” Favour Onwuka and “iZombie” actress Jenika Rose. Onwuka and Rose will play college freshman who become “fast friends,” according to Lifetime’s description of the film. “Riley (Rose), whose mother Katherine (Doherty) was a legacy Pi Gamma Beta, decides to rush in hopes of following Katherine’s footsteps and is ecstatic when Olivia (Onwuka) joins her. Sensing the opportunity to go undercover to write a story about hazing practices, Olivia soon discovers there are deadly secrets involved in being part of the sisterhood.”
The original “Dying to Belong,” directed by William A. Graham, aired in 1997 on NBC, starring Hilary Swank, Sarah Chalke, Jenna von Oÿ and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Dying to Belong will debut this fall on Lifetime.
Lifetime’s “Dying to Belong” is slated to premiere on Lifetime this fall. Gail Harvey is set to direct from a script by “Wynonna Earp” writer Caitlin D. Freyers. Pink Buffalo Films and Wishing Floor Films produce, with Danielle von Zerneck and Shawn Angelski executive producing. Frank von Zerneck, Danielle von Zerneck’s father, served as one of the producers on the original film.
“Dying to Belong” marks Doherty’s second team-up with Lifetime this year. She also stars in “List of a Lifetime” for the network’s Stop Breast Cancer for Life campaign, and has directed special content for the campaign that will roll out in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Doherty announced last year she is battling breast cancer for a second time.
De laatste foto’s van seizoen 2 van Julian’s serie ‘F.B.I: Most Wanted’ zijn toegevoegd op de website, waaronder vele missende afleveringstills. Inmiddels zijn ook de opnames van het derde seizoen weer begonnen, en is ook de eerste setfoto verschenen! Het nieuwe seizoen begint op 21 september op de Amerikaanse zender CBS.

Shannen is gecast in de nieuwe film ‘List of a Lifetime’ ook wel ‘Breast Cancer Bucket List’ genoemd. De film is op 10 oktober te zien op de Amerikaanse zender Lifetime als onderdeel van hun jaarlijkse Stop Breast Cancer for Life public affairs initiative. Voor dit doel heeft Shannen ook wat promotiemateriaal geschoten dat in de maand oktober op de zender te zien is en de social mediaplatforms. Dit allemaal om de Breast Cancer Research Foundation te steunen.

When Brenda (Kelly Hu) is diagnosed with breast cancer, her friend Meg (Patricia Velasquez) encourages Brenda to find Talia (Sylvia Kwan), the baby girl she gave up for adoption years ago. Realizing her revelation has hurt Brenda, Talia insists the article is not the only reason she bonded with her and helps Brenda overcome her own childhood trauma. Encouraged to give their relationship—and life—another chance, Brenda commits to survival.
De trailer van Ser’Darius nieuwste serie voor de Amerikaanse zender Fox is verschenen, de serie eerste seizoen zal op 20 september beginnen op de zender.
Ik heb enkele afleveringsstills toegevoegd van Finola in de Amerikaanse soap serie ‘General Hospital’. In de serie is ze o.a. samen te zien met acteur Wes Ramsey die in ‘Charmed’ de rol van volwassen Wyatt speelde in enkele aflevering van seizoen 6-8.

Het is bekend geworden dat het derde seizoen van Julian’s serie ‘F.B.I: Most Wanted’ op 21 september zal beginnen op de Amerikaanse zender CBS.
De bedenker van de serie ‘Manifest’ Jeff Rake zet zijn hoop nu op het maken van een film om fans een sluiting te geven. De serie werd eerder door NBC gecanceld en evt. andere partijen zoals Netflix stonden niet open op de serie op te pakken. Hierdoor is de serie geëindigd met een grote cliffhanger, en was het verhaallijn van de serie al uitgedacht voor de eerder geplande 6 seizoen. Vanaf seizoen 1 was de serie een succes maar langzaamaan verloor het meer vaste kijkers, sinds kort is de serie te zien op de Amerikaanse Neflix waar het momenteel één van de best bekeken series is. Dit was helaas voor Netflix niet genoeg om de serie een nieuwe kans te geven.
Het is onduidelijk in hoeverre hier al concrete plannen voor zijn voor het maken van de film, in een interview met EW zei Jeff Rake het volgende erover:
“Twenty days after we’ve premiered on Netflix, I’ve kind of moved away from the plan of finding a home for seasons 4, 5, and 6 of Manifest, even though I’ve always talked about Manifest being a six-season show, Back in the day, I laid out a six-season roadmap for NBC, and I’m halfway through. I had giant cliffhangers in the season 3 finale, so I had every intention to have three more seasons to slow-burn the back half of the story. I’m reading the writing on the wall that we may not find a home for three more seasons of the show, so I moved to plan B: Some platform would bankroll a feature or a movie finale, like we saw with Timeless, Firefly, and Deadwood. I just need a modest budget to tell the story. I am personally sketching out how to consolidate the back half of the series into a much more streamlined, cut-to-the-chase two-hour finale that would distill all of the hanging chads of the series. That’s where my head is at. There is a huge appetite for people wanting to know what’s that end of the story, what happened to the passengers, what ultimately happened to that airplane.”
‘Manifest’ is definitief niet opgepakt door Netflix, hierdoor lijkt het onwaarschijnlijk dat de serie alsnog een vervolg seizoen gaat komen. Het is onduidelijk of de makers van ‘Manifest’ nog in gesprek zijn of gaan met andere streamingsdiensten. Afgelopen week liet Ellen al weten geraakt te zijn door alle steun van fans om de serie nog een kans te geven met de hashtag #savemanifest.

Kaley is momenteel aan het onderhandelen over een mogelijk rol in de komedie film ‘Meet Cute’.
We have learned that Kaley Cuoco and Pete Davidson are in negotiations to headline the romantic comedy movie Meet Cute directed by Alex Lehmann. The deal has not yet closed.
Meet Cute, I hear, is a wildly inventive deconstruction of the romantic comedy built around the question: What would you do if you could travel to your loved ones’ past, heal their traumas, fix their problems, and change them into the perfect partner?
Cuoco will play Sheila, while Davidson will portray Gary in the pic. Noga Pnueli penned the script. Akiva Goldsman, Gregory Lessans, and Rachel Reznick of Weed Road Pictures will produce with Santosh Govindaraju and Dan Reardon of Convergent Media.
Cuoco recently closed an expansive new overall deal with Warner Bros. TV Group for her production company Yes, Norman, extending a 15-year relationship with the studio, as Deadline first reported. She developed, executive produced, and starred in the acclaimed HBO Max hit series The Flight Attendant, which is going into its second season. The actress received several noms including SAG (Female Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as Ensemble in a Comedy Series), Critics Choice (Actress in a Comedy Series, Best Comedy Series), and the Golden Globes (Actress in a TV Series – Musical or Comedy, as well as TV Series – Musical or Comedy). She was also nominated for a PGA (Producer of Episodic TV, Comedy).
After collaborating on The Flight Attendant, Cuoco recently re-teamed with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV to land the rights to Doris Day: Her Own Story, the legendary singer’s official biography/autobiography, by A.E. Hotchner. The project is currently in development, with Cuoco slated to star. She is continuing to do the title voiceover and EP Warner Bros. Animation’s Harley Quinn, which is heading into its third season. Most recently as Deadline first told you, Cuoco and Yes, Norman acquired rights to A Season With Mom. She’ll next star in the Sony movie The Man From Toronto opposite Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. She is represented by SDB Partners, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller & Gellman.
Zender NBC heeft de ‘Manifest’ gecanceld na 3 seizoenen, de afgelopen twee seizoen had Ellen Tamaki een terugkerende rol in de serie. Bedenker Jeff Rake liet via twitter weten geschokt te zijn door de beslissing van de zender en hoopt dat de serie op een andere zender of streamingsdienst nog de kans krijgt om het verhaal verder te vertellen. NBC had de serie aangenomen met in de planning een verhaallijn verspreid over 6 seizoenen, maar dat gaat nu dus niet gebeuren. De hashtag #savemanifest gaat momenteel viral op social media.
Het is verassend dat de serie niet is vernieuwd, vooral omdat het over het algemeen goede recensies kreeg en de kijkcijfers goed waren. Sinds afgelopen donderdag is de serie te zien op de Amerikaanse Netflix en is sindsdien trending en #3 op de meest bekeken serie op de streamingsdienst. Helaas voor ons is Manifest niet via Netflix Nederland te bekijken of een andere streamingsdienst.
Mocht Manifest opgepakt worden door bijv. Netflix is dat niet voor het eerst. Eerder werd ook al de serie ‘Lucifer’ opgepakt door de streamingsdienst nadat de serie door zender Fox gecanceld was.

If you think it’s hard being an alcoholic flight attendant who wakes up next to a dead body in Bangkok with no idea what happened the night before, try being the actress playing that character on TV. “There were nights where I would go into my apartment in New York and cry. Like, ‘Oh my God, everyone’s going to hate this,'” says Kaley Cuoco of her anxiety while filming and executive-producing The Flight Attendant in 2019. “It was a lot of up-and-down emotions, because this project lived or died with me.”
Not only did The Flight Attendant live, the darkly comic thriller soared. After premiering on Thanksgiving 2020, the HBO Max series based on Chris Bohjalian’s 2018 novel racked up stellar reviews and a season 2 renewal (set to debut in spring 2022). Next came a wave of accolades for the Big Bang Theory alum, who masterfully balanced her character’s own whirlwind of emotions, from wild panic to deeply rooted shame. “I felt like I played 10 different women. I played the fun best friend. I played the sister. I played a girl who has serious trauma,” she says of Cassie. “It was an actor’s dream.”

1. Is Cassie going to join the CIA?
Though Shane (Griffin Matthews) hinted at a CIA gig for Cassie in the season finale, Cuoco says, “this is not all of a sudden going to be Cassie is a superspy. I think there will be a little bit of the CIA-asset stuff, on the side.”2. We know he’s dead, but will Alex (Michiel Huisman) be back?
“I don’t think he will,” says Cuoco. But the “mind palace” – the elaborate, all-in-Cassie’s-head setting where she and Alex spent time together – will return: “Cassie is going to have to face some of her own demons in the mind palace, especially now trying to stay sober.”3. With Cassie moving to L.A., will we still see her best friend Annie (Zosia Mamet) and her brother Davey (T.R. Knight)?
“I think we want [Annie] to come out and maybe look at some L.A. law firms so she can be near Cassie,” says Cuoco. As for Davey, “he is going to follow her to L.A. because he’s concerned about her sobriety, [but] we are going to find out that he’s trying to escape some of his own issues.”

De laatste aflevering van de serie werd uitgezonden in mei 2019. “Het voelde als gisteren toen we klaar waren met filmen, maar ik denk dat iedereen van de cast nog naar nieuwe projecten aan het zoeken is,” aldus Kaley. “Ik denk over een paar jaar als de timing goed is, dat ik zeker meedoe. Het was een ervaring die onze levens veranderde en het lijkt me geweldig om dat nog een keer met de fans te delen.”
De comedyserie volgde de avonturen van vier nerdy wetenschappers en hun knappe buurmeisje. Er werden 12 seizoenen van de serie geproduceerd en daarmee is The Big Bang Theory de langstlopende sitcom ooit.
Greg zal deze zomer in ieder geval weer te zien zijn in de Amerikaanse soapserie ‘Days of our Lives’ als Eric Brady. In een nieuwe promotieclip die zender NBC deelde is zijn te zien, het is niet bekend gemaakt of hij tijdelijk of definitief weer terug is in de serie. Greg was vanaf 2012 te zien in de serie tot hij vorig jaar liet weten te stoppen.

De hitserie Bridgerton van Netflix heeft in het tweede seizoen acteur Rupert Evans gecast. Hij zal patriarch Edmund Bridgerton spelen in het tweede seizoen van de serie.
Fans van de Bridgerton-boeken van Julia Quinn wachten al sinds de teaser aan het einde van het eerste seizoen op een antwoord op de vraag of Edmund Bridgerton ook echt debuteert. Dat blijkt het geval. Het gaat dan natuurlijk om een rol in flashbacks.
Tweede seizoen Bridgerton
Tegen de tijd dat de serie Bridgerton begint, is Edmund natuurlijk al dood. Evans zal dus een rol hebben in flashbacks waarin we zullen zien hoe de broers en zussen opgevoed en opgegroeid zijn.In de serie staat Edmund Bridgerton te boek als een vriendelijke en geduldige vader die een echte liefdesband had met zijn vrouwe Violet Bridgerton. Van haar verwachten we een flinke impact in het nieuwe seizoen.
Het tweede seizoen van Bridgerton wordt gebaseerd op het tweede boek in de reeks, The Viscount Who Loved Me. De focust ligt op de oudste zoon van de familie, Anthony Bridgerton. Liefde speelt geen rol in zijn pogingen een vrouw te vinden.
